Ambar Carlisle Salgueiro is the Former President of the Board of Directors of CHJ and has served on the Board since 2016. Ambar is the Director of the Jesse M. Unruh Assembly Fellows Program, one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious fellowship programs which places Fellows in the Office of a California Assemblymember. She is also an adjunct professor at Bakersfield College and teaches in both the Department of Public Health and Criminal Justice. Ambar has many years of experience in the health policy field having worked at non-profit organizations, corporations, and in the California State Legislature. Ambar holds a JD from UCLA School of Law, an MPA from CSUB, and a BA from UCSD.
