Dr. Revery Barnes currently serves as the HIV Clinic Director at Hubert H. Humphrey Comprehensive Health Center (HHH CHC) of the South Los Angeles Health Center Group under the LA County Department of Health Services’ Ambulatory Care Network (ACN). "Main Street Clinic", as it is familiarly known in the community, is one of four Positive Care Clinics within the ACN and serves some of the most marginalized patient populations in South Central Los Angeles and surrounding communities living with HIV. Dr. Barnes completed her medical education at the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) in Havana, Cuba and completed her residency training in Family Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. She is a certified HIV Specialist who completed her HIV Fellowship training at the DHS HIV Clinical Leadership Program (HCLP) at LAC+USC Medical Center. She now serves as the Associate Program Director of the HCLP Fellowship Program. Dr. Barnes's interests include social justice, harm reduction, quality improvement, leadership development, primary care, urgent care medicine, gender affirming care, trauma-informed care, substance use/ addiction medicine and the primary care of vulnerable populations including persons experiencing homelessness and/ or a history of incarceration. Her work in HIV clinical care and education directly aligns with the mission and work of CHJ.
